Get FiT!

Well let me just begin this blog post by stating that I never in a million years would have thought I would be talking about how much a am loving RUNNING!! Of all the things to do in this world it has become a guilty pleasure of mine thanks to the push of my wonderful husband! haha
Lets behind with the story behind it all, for those of you that didn't know this my husband Matt is a huge runner he absolutely loves it, and is very very good at it! Of course I knew this before I married him and always thought it was so awesome that he loved it and he would always ask me, "When we get married are you going to come running with me?" Most of the time I would reply with, "I would like to", or "Maybe". In my head though all I could think was there is no way I can run with you dude, I wouldn't be able to keep up! haha. Working at the gym I was all about but running I was extremely skeptical about. Not only have a never really enjoyed running but I also had problems with my knees for years and just put it off not really caring about it or saying, "maybe I will get them fixed one day." But since Matt was so serious about me running with him after we got back from our honeymoon and into the real world he was determined to get me on my feet and exercising which I was all about! But it was hard for me, on my knees which would take a toll on my whole body and then I would get very discouraged and very down on myself because I wanted to just be able to get in shape again and make Matt proud that I was trying to work hard. To be honest anytime Matt would say, "okay lets go to the gym!" I just wanted to crawl under the bed. Pathetic right? So after a couple times of us going to the gym and be wanting to die after Matt decided I was going to see a doctor! I went to a specialist and thankfully I didn't have to hear the thing I was most scared of hear (you have to have surgery) biggest blessing ever! I was told that it actually wasn't my knees at all, to put it in simple terms that muscles around my knee were just not strong enough to support it so because of that it would be a lot of strain on them and cause them to swell because my knees were doing all the work not my calf muscles. So with a good solid four weeks of physical therapy I was in tip top shape! During these four weeks outside of physical therapy we were still going to the gym and trying to run. One day Matt came home from work and was telling me about this new show that he had found to watch while he was there (the employees watch hulu to stay awake while they are working since they are in front of a computer screen all day) of course I was very interested to hear all about it. He told me it was called Extreme Weight Loss. He then went on explaining to me how the show works and how inspired he has become at what the trainer, Chris Powell does with these people that are so over weight. I was more then intrigued by this because I love shows like that. I wanted to start watching it right after he told me about it. That Saturday Matt was still on such a high from this show that he really wanted to go for a run up the canyon, I thought it might be fun so I agreed. Man was I struggling! We walked part of it, ran part of it and didn't even go all the way Matt wanted to. I was so so upset with myself and let pride get the better of me and took it out on my dear sweet husband who was only trying to help me. When I was finally willing to learn it started getting a little easier, that is when we decided to make a goal that we are going to run EVERY DAY for the rest of the year! I thought this would be a great challenge and a fun thing for the both of us to do together! Week one flew by, in the middle of week one I watched a couple of the older episodes of the show, and holy crap was I so emotionally invested! Chris Powell is freaking AMAZING! The passion and drive he has to help these people that he chooses is so incredible, and the trust and faith these people gain in him and themselves is so cool to watch! So I would just like to give a shout out to Chris Powell, he will probably never read this but, thank you for being such an inspiration to my husband and I and helping us motive and push each other just from watching the show. It sounds very silly yes but it is really a good motivator! Especially for Matt and I to meet the two goals we have set for us; the running one, and we also when we first got married in us constantly talking about running or going to the gym told each other: "We are going to be that different married couple that does NOT gain weight after getting married!" As sad as it is its true it happens a lot and we want to beat that! Hopefully we can continue sticking to our goal and MEET it ram into it head on knowing that we kicked butt and put our heart and soul into it!

Starting our adventure.

Hello everyone, well that month that I talked about has come and gone.... Meaning I am MARRIED!! It has seriously been the best happiest thing ever being able to say that I am sealed to by best friend and love of my life for time and all eternity! Lets just talk about the week leading up to it, I went home on the Tuesday before we got married drove home with my bestie/maid of honor and her fiance ( Jill and Logan ), haha that was quite a drive we had way to much fun! Anyways, that night I just went straight to bed and then Wednesday my mom and spent the day together making sure everything is completely ready for Saturday then all us girls went and got our nails done and that night my moms sweet and kind best friends threw me a bridal shower, which was so much fun! Thursday and Friday just flew by, and going through the temple was the most amazing thing in the whole world! And finally Saturday morning rolled around and I was so excited, nervous, scared, happy, and every other possible emotion you can think of... which was the best feeling ever!! That day couldn't have been more perfect yes some silly little things happened but I didn't let them stress me out at all because I was just so incredibly happy! Our sealing was so happy and wonderful, and we got to exit through the front doors of the Newport Beach Temple which was so cool being the one coming out that everyone was cheering happily for. The rest of the day was bliss it was so fun spending time with my family and my new family also it was great seeing so many friends at our reception and it was so nice how many people supported us! Then it was off to our honeymoon which was so much FUN!!! We started it off with a red eye to Miami, then we spent about 4 hours window shopping waiting to check into our hotel. # of those 4 hours were spent in target and I am pretty sure the workers thought we were weirdos haha. Once we were able to check into our hotel we slept like the rest of the day, then Tuesday the real fun began!! We first took a bus ride down to the Florida Keys and then took and hour boat ride out to a reef to go snorkeling for an hour and then the boat ride back, it was seriously so much fun defiantly my favorite part of the trip, I think it was because Matt loved it so much it was so fun watching him enjoy it so much and being so happy! Wednesday was animal day, to the seaquarium and the zoo. Thursday we went to a gator farm, road a fan boat, watched a gator show, and held a baby gator, after that we were off to the beach. No wonder people love the beaches in Florida they are so pretty and the water is so warm it was a blast! Finally to end the week of wedding celebrations we had our second reception at my WONDERFUL brother and sister in laws house! That was also very very fun, they did a great job and made it so happy and great! Now we are both back to the grid living in our tiny but adorable little apartment working like crazy and loving married life, being able to come home to each other is the best happiest thing ever! :)

Here's to the Future!

Well folks those three weeks that I recently talked about have thankfully come and gone.
I am officially graduated from Paul Mitchell the School Provo and it feels so incredible! It is still very serial to  me, a part of me feels like I just started last year. I can honestly remember driving up here and moving all my stuff in and how stinking excited I was to begin my new journey in school, and what a journey it was. I met and was impacted by so many amazing people! The learning leaders that taught me and connected with me I just want to say thank you so much! Each of you are huge mentors to me and each did something special for me while I was in school in order for me to achieve my goal of graduating and getting my licence and now I can thanks to you all for couching me and teaching me the proper things! Also I would like to give a shout out to my girls that helped keep me wanting to come back because getting down to the wire there was a little hard for me and I don't think I could have done it without you all: My Hill bo, Sweet Katie, Mamma Dally, Karissa, Emily, Lindsey Kay Clark, Lindsey Lish, and Britt Britt! a special thanks to you ladies you all mean a great deal to me and I know that our friendship will continue after our hair school days are done. :)

Now onto the future, its coming quickly! As for getting a salon job its still undecided for the moment if I do get into one it will just be one day a week to keep up my speed and skills but I will still be doing hair always!! If you ever need your hair done don't be afraid to shoot me a text and call me and we can set something up. :) After I get my licence in the mail of course!

But really though can we just talk about the fact that I am marrying the love of my life NEXT MONTH!! I never thought I would be about to say that since it feels like we have been engaged for a million years! haha but its almost here and its crazy, and kinda scary... but a good scary. This is one of those things in life that is going to throw surprises at you from every corner, it is the adventure of a life time and I am so incredibly excited to start it! Sure I don't know what the Lord had in store for us yet but I can't wait to find out! I am so excited to go through the temple and know that I will be sealed to my best friend ever and our family for time and ALL eternity how incredible it that I can only imagine now what it feels like and soon I will know!

January, February, and March all in one!

Man oh man, time has flown by since the last time I was on here.
Sorry folks I have had no life for the past three months but it is almost over.
The news update of the life of Elizabeth is this...
In the month of January I started day and night school which means, I am still in school Monday through Friday but Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday I am in from from 9 am to 10 pm... Kill Me Now! haha It is so hard being there so long all the time and on top of it I am still working at my wonderful job the three nights I can still work when I am not in school. Needless to say my body and brain have had enough! Good thing I graduate in THREE WEEKS!!! Holy cow how time has flown! I remember when I first started school and that's all my blog was about how much I love school, now I just can't wait to be done to start the new chapter in my life.
Thankful I haven't been in this alone, my dear sweet friend Hillary has been doing night school with me and we get through it together by doing crazy things...

Also it was Matt's birthday, and of course I spoiled him with lots of surprises!

That was January.

Now onto the month of LOVE<3
February was nothing exciting, just school and work of course.
Valentines day was school and work also, kinda lame I know but we tried to do our best to make it special for each other since it was our first together. I baked him banana bread and heart attacked his room while he was at work. Him being the adorable guy he is dropped my gift off and left it for me to find...
That was February.

And Last but not least the "Green" month we are in now. :)
Well march has been great and crazy and hectic because we are coming down to the wire!
The first week of march I was in class all week long preparing to take my state boards...
Of course we PASSED! Thanks "YoChell" ;)

Then the same day I took my boards I went HOME!!! My family and I went to San Francisco for fun and to celebrate my birthday! :)

It was so much fun and was the last family vacation before Matt joins us.
Then my birthday was St. Patties day as always! I celebrated by flying back to Provo, haha and of course having so much fun not being a teenager anymore! Matt picked me up from the airport and I opened my gifts which were great I loved them then we went to Chelsea's parents house for dinner and it was so so YUMMY! And after that it was very chill kind of boring because it was on a Sunday but still great!

Well that is the life of Elizabeth for now, thanks for reading :)
